Political tension escalated in Bihar following the cancellation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's planned visit to Banaras. Bihar BJP State President Samrat Chaudhary launched a scathing attack, likening Kumar's electoral prospects to that of a ward councillor, asserting that Kumar wouldn't secure as many votes even in Banaras. The cancellation of Kumar's visit stirred a flurry of criticism from Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, with Chaudhary's strong remarks adding fuel to the ongoing political fire.
Chaudhary's comparison referenced Nitish Kumar's unsuccessful electoral endeavors, drawing parallels to a past instance in Madhya Pradesh where Kumar failed to garner the votes equivalent to a ward councillor's count. BJP MP Ravi Kishan, also chiming in, urged Kumar to embrace the significance of visiting Banaras, highlighting its religious and cultural significance, albeit subtly inferring Kumar's political insignificance in that territory.
